Even though Peggy isn't actually still with us in the flesh - we can still help her celebrate her Birthday. Make sure you take time today to wish Ms. Peggy R. a very happy birthday. We miss you and love you Pegs!!!
Tis the season.....like I said! CrossFit Michiana has adopted a Christmas Family and I need a little bit of help from each and every one of you!! I have placed cards at the gym with some small requests on each of them - take 1 take 5 whatever you would like but please take time this Christmas to help those that are less fortunate than each of us. At one time, I found myself on the other side of this - and I made a promise to myself and to my Brandon that if we ever got past this that I would do everything in my power to make those feel as special as we did on that day!!
The cards each contain a small item - not too expensive but you can pick and choose. There are 4 children that need clothes, coats, and boots and maybe a toy or 2. We also will be providing a cleaning care basket and a monetary gift certificate to Martin's for groceries. The items are due back with the card that you take by Saturday December 10th - I have to have them ready to be delivered to the Salvation Army on Wednesday December 14th. CrossFit Michiana - let's step up and take care of our community.

With a partner take turns rowing as many meters as possible in 20 minutes -
Must switch partners every 2 minutes - when you are the partner that is not rowing you must do 15 back extensions and 15 hollow rocks before you take the rest of the 2 minutes to rest.

Ok, I'm not going to lie. I was all set to put up the awesome picture Jim took of Holly on Saturday where she was lying on the ground with arms spread and face down....and give all of you that decided not to join the CFM Games Fit For Life Challenge an idea of the hard work that all of these athletes have been putting into this challenge. Looking further into it I decided that a much better picture was the finale WOD for the advanced women's division, at the very end Holly snuck by and kicked some tire dragging butt to take first in the heat!!! Jim snapped the picture as Holly crossed the finish line at 2:56, Nikole at 2:59 and Angela at 3:02. Holly earned herself a new nickname after that WOD - you'll have to talk to her if you'd like to know what it is!

There is NO Wendler this week. This week we will only be open on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday - Thursday's Turkey WOD is "extra full" and will begin promptly at 7:00 am. The gym will be closed for the remainder of Thursday, all of Friday, and Saturday and ready to resume regular hours on Monday November 28th. We hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend with your families as we plan to spend some extra time with ours.

What can we say about Angela? The look on her face in this picture shows the will and determination she brings with her to every workout. Her husband likes to call it Beast Mode....she is tiny but mighty!! We love having Angela's expertise and knowledge in the area of Paleo Nutrition....our gym wouldn't be the same without her!

A little picture of last Saturday's organized chaos....
An email was sent yesterday but nothing like covering all my bases - if you signed up for the Turkey WOD then your $20.00 is due by or on Thanksgiving Day. Please make checks payable to Carole Turnbo.
If you ordered a sweatshirt/tshirt - they are scheduled to print on Friday so hopefully sometime next week those will be in as well. The money is due in order to receive your item...you can also make those checks payable to me.
This Saturday is our FREE community workout- so please make sure to invite your friends, neighbors, and we don't care even people you don't like....maybe it will make them nicer!!! Community workout is at 7:30 a great chance for our athletes to get an extra WOD in for the week as well.....CFM games workout will follow at 8:30 am.

Week 3 of the CrossFit Michiana Games Fit for Life is over as week 4 begins today. Each of the CFM Games participants had 3 events this past Saturday - a 1 rep max Thruster ladder, a 2 minute team event that involved quick planning, and a team chipper that ended with some awesome partner tire flips. The scoring is complete for each division here are the results:
Men's Advanced: Chet 87, Tim 82, Kevin 80, Matt 80.
Women's Advanced: Cathy 80, Jena 74, Holly 66, Angela 60, Nikole 60, Lindsey 48.
Intermediate Men: Jason 83, Doug 81, Devin 74, Chris 55, Karl 52.
Intermediate Women: Debbie 79, Tami 74, Heidi 72, Stacy 72, Carolyn 65, Claire 54, Steph 27, Robin 25.
Some pictures have been posted for these events on Facebook and the others will follow as soon as Facebook starts cooperating. Keep an eye on the scoreboard in the gym or follow along on Facebook as these athletes compete with the Finals set up for December 17, 2011.
One lonely spot remains for the 5th Annual Blow Your Turkey WOD scheduled for Thanksgiving Day at 7:00 am.....let's get that filled today. The Thanksgiving WOD is officially FULL!! If you have already claimed a spot $20.00 is due to Carole (please make checks out to Carole Turnbo) by Thursday November 24th in order to receive your shirt. Speaking of Thanksgiving - I was speaking with Melissa from Whole30 and they are posting Thanksgiving Day Recipes on their blog Monday morning.....go to Turkey Day Recipes and see how you can make this Thanksgiving your healthiest ever!
TESTING TESTING 1 2...it's time for our monthly test and this month happens to be Fight Gone Bad......spend 1 minute at each station getting as many reps as you possibly can.....move on to each station for 5 minutes of work...3 rounds...with 1 minute of rest between each round.....it will be the best 17 minutes of your day!!!
Due to the enormity of this day and all that is going on - we will have to celebrate Joleen's Birthday tomorrow....so ya better get ready it's gonna be a good one!! In the meantime, Joleen's Birthday was yesterday and if you missed it she is still taking Birthday wishes today!!
